If they don't, just call the Federal marshals. They will jump all over it.

I hope you are kidding about taking your 30 at the fuel island. The fuel island is reserved for only 10 hour resets, and if you manage to park across two lanes during that reset you'll get a fresh 70 hours too.

I heard you get double the points of your visit every time the driver behind you blows their horn while you sit there eating your Subway sub. Seems like a sweet deal.

Click your self to on-duty after your 30 is up then drive. Otherwise sometimes it back tracks, Omni has been this was as long as I can remember.

I will give this a try the next time I'm on a shorter run that I don't really need a 30 to complete. This would be great if it works because it takes my Qualcomm about 5 minutes to boot up once I start the truck.

If the elog device is incapable of keeping accurate records of your duty status, how is that supposed to be better than paper? And no, the FMCSA has not changed the rule to require the truck to be shut off at any point. Only the states and local jurisdictions have done that with their anti-idle laws...but that has nothing to do with HOS compliance.

I'm curious, why is your qc shutting down on a 30 minute break? Most are programmed to shutdown after the truck has be off for an hour or more.

It doesn't shut down, it reboots when I start the truck.

Then it's time to get your qc fixed. Sounds like the have the power harness wired wrong so it's as if you had flipped the main breaker for the truck and turned it back on to reboot the qc and the battery backup on the qc isn't keeping it on like it should for that brief moment.

It's not suppose to reboot every time you start the truck up.
