These are from the towing world. A friend showed me these in a tow magazine when they came out. They're from B/A.

I added the short chain as a variation on another style they offered. They had other ones with 6 foot long chains, with j hooks, etc. The idea on the short chain is to drop it in a stake pocket, then grab a chain link coming from whatever you're tying down, and tighten.

I may start short chaining more, use one chain/two binders instead of 2 chains/2 binders. Instead of how I did it image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg in the last picture of the tractor on the deck, I'd like to be more efficient.

I don't know how they would work in the general freight world. I threw them under my bunk on the work truck. I doubt I'll use them, still, always a nice option to have.

T-handle not new but short barrel I have not seen before. Just what is needed for those wide coils that need to load suicide.

I moved a Gradall today and all I had was 3 chains and 5 binders. I do use 3/8" chain as all I carry is 3/8" and 1/2".

Those are grade 80 but they also come in other grades.

By the way those t handles have been out for a while. This is the newest ratchet binder with a 5400 lb WLL but they are not cheap at nearly $100 each

    • Extra long handle provides mechanical advantage needed for secure tensioning of binder chains
    • Durable countoured handle grip for comfortable operation
    • Heavy gauge steel construction with corrosion resistant electro-zinc plating
    • Dual solid gears distribute tensioning forces evenly
    • Free wheel function for quick take up
    • Quality Grade 100 load chain with swiveling grab hook ends for ease of use
    • Works with 5/16" Grade 70 up to 3/8" Grade 43 chains
    • Will take up 12" of chain during tensioning
    • Working Load Limit (WLL): 5,400 lbs. (2,450 kg)

Why Lebus, please? I was going to order new snaps in the spring.

I run Kinedyne now, they work. I wouldn't call them high quality.

If you think that is a lot of work you might like it better as a door swinger.:p There are some things that a snap binder will just not handle as well as a ratchet binder. Especially the prestress stuff where it is either too tight or not tight enough and you can easily break the concrete.

Diesel Dave, MJ1657 and johndeere4020 Thank this.
