I'm and new to any trucking forum. I've had my CDL for 2 years now. I used it for 6 months running hotshot but haven't done anything in 1.5yrs. I'm just getting back into using it again and also for hot shot running.

My question is. I have forgotten if I need to fill out a daily log from the 1st of this month until the day I take my first load out? I know if I do it needs to be off duty.

    Thanks

You only need last 7 days if you're just starting. Remember, today is always the 8th day

One other question. On those daily logs when I was employed by the company what do I put in the carrier and address fields?

Hi. Most of the carriers now have e-logs but you still carry the paper ones. I had to back when I was OTR. Anyway, the answer to your question is that most of them that I've seen have the name and address on the log pages pre-printed. You just have to put your home terminal i.e. Swift's main terminal is based out of Phoenix Az. but the terminal you report home to is in Dallas, Texas. Then you would use your home terminal address underneath on the free lines. Everything else is still the same. Good luck and welcome to the forums.
