    Hi guys,

I think I have a problem that should be simple to diagnose, but I haven't found it yet:

I've got a 2005 9200i with a cat c13. This issue is there is no service air coming to the blue airline when I press the brake pedal. There is air in the tanks though (I pulled the air release on both tanks just to make sure air was in there and the tank didn't need to have condensation drained - both tanks spit out compressed air), and the compressor runs and fills the tanks. I took off the blue airline just to make sure it wasn't pinched or plugged, and no air is coming out of the brass coupling either. The tractor brakes work. The red airline works (I set the brake and a steady stream of air comes out).

Would you all have any ideas or suggestions regarding this? I appreciate this and thanks in advance.

You had the supply pushed in when you were checking to see if air was coming out of the service line right? I don't want to treat you like an idiot or anything but I have made that mistake before and thought my brakes were not working and realized my supply was pulled.

With the red button pushed in, and then with a brake application you should have air out the blue line. If no air, the tractor protection valve is the usual culprit. Some trucks were built with in-line quick release valves at the base where the blue line threads into at the back of the bunk. If you have one, take it off and make sure it isn't plugged or stuck.

Thanks everyone who responded. Honestly, a tractor protection valve. Never heard of it ever. Could something that breaks like that get any more obscure? Anyhoo, my breaks are back up and running at 100% just in time to miss the FDOT break check week.

That is a rare part to fail. I don't change too many.

Ok. So new question. When we push the red button in, no air comes out of the red glad hand. Yet, when we push both in, air come out of red glad hand. 96 Pete 379. We just r&r'd the manifold dash valve with no change in performance.
