Good day all i have a ford l8000 that busted one of the power steering lines and now it has air trapped in system and it just keeps pushing fluid out of reservoir. is there any way to bleed the power steering system?

Just make sure the fluid doesn't get low enough that air gets sucked in. Once the oil becomes aerated it expands big time and that is why it pushes out of the reservoir. You might have to let it sit for 10 mins until the air bubbles mixed in the fluid inside the reservoir have come out, them just bump key and recheck your fluid level. Don't let the engine fire and run because that will just start the cycle all over again. Keep the reservoir full. Once you get it to the point you can crank for a second or two without it firing and the fluid in the reservoir doesn't drop anymore and no longer has air bubbles in it, then you can start the engine and let it run for about 30 seconds, shut off and recheck. Once that is good, then fire it up again and turn the wheels side to side once, shut down and recheck. Then repeat until your steering is ok and top up the fluid as needed.

    truckerbangin Thanks this.
