I left 2 years ago. I was 3rd shift operations/customer service manager on a dedicated account but still classified as driver. It was suppose to be temporary. But it took them 2 1/2 years to hire someone. Started team driving for my last year there. I left because we started running nothing 500-600 mile loads with anywhere between 6-8 hours between loads. Was there 12 years. They started cost cutting my last year in the office which greatly hampered on time deliveries.

I'll say if it's insurance reasons as they claim ( I know for a fact it isn't ) then a IC wouldn't be coveted as a passenger either .

Understand that loads go on company trucks just this happened at end of last year or beginning of this year.
I fully expect that they would load their own trucks first.
I guess I was on a rant I will probably stay here until I am dead and gone.Last edited: May 7, 2016

It's just all the signs of tough times. If we were in that position, we would do the some thing. They have to feed themselves first. Look at the IC business framework. We are basically competing with our own customer.
