can go 12500 on the steers as long as it's not over gross. all is good . back to work I go

Do states like IN and MS where in the book it states 12,000 max for steer axle actually follow that? Or same goes for ND for 550 lb/in or 12100 for 11r tires. Do they overlook steer axle weight as long as your tires and axle ratings are above actual weight? I have always just went with 12,000 or lower never really risked it.
