I have to hand it to this company, they solved the driver shortage problem, at least for them. By paying drivers what they are worth.

You need doubles and hazmat, and a good record. They don't put up with unsafe drivers. The turnover is less than 10 percent. I've never seen them advertise for drivers.

Major terminals have fuel, scales, showers - we drop and hook, fuel and scale and are gone in about an hour. If there is no freight you get a paid motel and paid $7.50/hour each. 5 free company uniforms provided, then $100 allowance each year. Breakdown handled by third party, just call the number and wait - also paid at $7.50/hr each. Yearly pay increase, 2011 was 1.9cpm. Match on 401K, 6% they match 3%. Yearly discretionary match to 401k.

No pet, no rider. Basic trucks, but often replaced. Elogs, (BLU), zero paperwork, units are scanned in the gates and automatically sènt to payroll. 65mph trucks. Safety bonus gets higher on consecutive years, we are on $450, next year $500(each).

This will be our last driving job. We will be debt free mid 2013 thanks to them (2 rentals, our house and 2 vehicles), so the wife can retire and I can go local. Hire here if you like driving, look elsewhere if you enjoy truck stops and loading docks.

can you tell me anything about their o/o container division? Particular out of jacksonville ,fl or any info if at all about the container division thanks.

Have my sights set on this company ,always heard good things about them ,they have been in business a long time ,they are stable in word and handshake so thats a great start

I have tried a couple of time to get on with odfl but never got a phone all....i might have to try team application to see.
Atlanta terminal seems to be hard to get in

My wife and I have been with Paramount Freight Systems for 4 years now and have the same deal as OD- We avg around 6 K per week and are home every weekend. Very flexible company and they are good honest company. We live in Dallas TX and I know they have needs for good teams in lots of areas to run terminal to terminal- No messing with snake brokers! Last time I looked they needed them in Ohio, Memphis, Shreveport and Dallas.
