This is not a usual area for me to haul out of. Meeker, CO. to ST. Louis, MO. Any suggestions for a legal high legal weight, 13'6" wide load.
I was thinking run north on highway 13 to Wyoming to I-80 to go east. I don't like running I-70 in Colorado.
Colorado website has a 10' width restriction on highway 13 between MM 84-87 where is this location.
Any information about highway 13 north.
And any Escort contacts in the area of Meeker.
    Thanks for all replies.

Your best bet for pilots is d-lux pilots out of Craig, CO. They know their business and are decent to work with. As far as I know the restriction is south of meeker and other than getting a little narrow up around the state line highway 13 is good running, there's a mountain to get over between Meeker and Craig which can get ####ty this time of year. If you need to weigh you can stop at the old port of entry in Baggs and use their scale you just have to walk around the building and look thru the window at the readout.

If it's at mm84-87 that would be just south of Craig. Seems odd that they would still be doing work this late in the year

    xsetra Thanks this.

Thank you for the information. I will call d-lux. Getting over mountain.

Isn't that whole area getting over a mountain. Even I-70!
The few times I ran 70 east in winter...... What is tunnel restriction on east 70.?

Last winter was routed around (on 6 I think) what a goat path and those tankers don't go slow.

I looked at weather outlook and seems the only day I-70 or any roads will be questionable is on Monday. I see no storms in the forecast yet.

You can't take a 13'6 wide load thru the tunnel, and I wouldn't think Loveland Pass would be a good idea either. I would call Cdot or CSP to check, but from Meeker I'd go up to 80

Good Deal. Hope the weather holds for you. You will need a county permit for the truck route around Craig the county sheriffs used to love stopping loads and checking.

I don't think a driver could ask for a better response. Especially the pilot car recommendation. The last thing you want to do is pull a 13 wide through the Rockies with a bonehead pilot car.
