I personally wouldn't even consider doing intermodal for percentage pay as a company driver...
I currently do Intermodal and with all the delay time and back-ups at rail yards plus the traffic out on the roads and waiting to be unloaded and loaded sometimes, not even close to being worth it...
Hourly pay is the only way to gorabbiporkchop, Canned Spam, TruckDuo and 1 other person Thank this. -
on percentage do you really know what the rate is or what they owe you ??
All you know is what they tell you in most cases, unless a lot of what you do is COD like what I am on.. -
How will the Carrier bill detention pay...aggressively...?
(no one likes to spend a lot of time working a single load...Carriers like to work loads) -

Can you make $1,000 per week in Chicagoland pulling containers...YES, and more....are Chicagoland trucking companies notorious for....ahem....creative math....yeah...TruckDuo Thanks this. -

This. I remember waiting hours to get a container pulled off or one put on a chassis and not to mention any repairs that needed to get done to a chassis pool pos. No way I would touch a percentage type situation with intermodal.HalpinUout Thanks this.
