If the switch is like the ones I had in my 379 and in my father's 281, that is for the fuel gauge. You probably have a different problem.

Ah ok, thanks! Is that switch at all connected to fuel flow or delivery?

Thanks y'all. I think you're right it's just for the gauges. Guess I need to check lines and such.

First off, what have you got in it for an engine?
-When where fuel filters last replaced?
-Have you started fueling up anywhere new since this issue started?
-Is there any possibility of there being an obstruction due to debris inside the fuel tanks?
-Are the fuel lines original or have they been replaced?
-I mean no insult with this question but does the truck have fuel in the tanks? Fuel gauges can be innacurate. -
I would

Disconnect fuel return line. On top of left tank. Then apply air pressure to fuel line return nipple. Until you have fuel coming out of line. Then replace line and start engine. Easy way to prime . If you don't get fuel you have a filter issue.

I have a 84-359 and that switch is for right and left fuel level with one gauge. Should have a fuel pressure gauge. If you got atleast 30# means transfer pump is sending enough fuel thru filter to injector pump. Don't have a bad connection thru key to fuel on-off solenoid?
