Have a 1999 378 Peterbilt and behind the dash on the drivers side it has an air leak from a sensor of some sorts. It has a 1/4" airline into the sensor and then 2 wires running somewhere. The unit is bolted to the sidewall. Looked at another truck and the line was folded back and plugged off. It only leaks when the brakes are released. What does this sensor do, can it just stay unhooked?

Tough for me to say plug it off w/o seeing it. But see what happens if you just seal it off temporarily. If all is well, then let it ride. To give more info, where do the two wires run? You don't wanna cut off your air buzzer b/c if you ever have a serious issue and that sucker doesn't go off, it could really jam you up.

that is the low air warning sensor, there's two of them next to each other, replace them both as the other will do the same in a few months or days, also your cruise control might not work either depending of which one it is, don't plug it is there for a reason.
