I have noticed just as much road noise in the International as with the Peterbilt. While I still like the look of the Pete, they are over priced. International is a much better value for the money. Many talk about resale value with Peterbilt, but you also pay considerably more for one than an International. The International pro sleeper is much better laid out for driver comfort than a comparable Peterbilt. I don't know if I would ever buy another Peterbilt. I would buy another International.
Peterbilt vs. International?

Just got out of my 01 9200i few weeks back it was my first truck so i bought what i could afford plus the family has been running international for the past 30yrs so i thought i would follow in suit. Drove that truck for 4yrs, bought s 05 379 in august and let me tell you, never will you catch me back in a navistar truck again. They dont compare. What ever you do, DO NOT BUY INTERNATIONAL.
Voodoo Pyg Thanks this. -
Trucks in order of what I have observed while operating them concerning fit finish reliability and longevity are as follows 1st place pete/kw 2nd freightliner/western star 3rd mack 4th international. Just what I have observed.

Well it was never my dream to own an international...
-
Because the steering wheel in the 579 looks so cool.
lol. -
I've had both Pete and Internationals. I'll take International.

379 pete anyday over any 13 letter s***spreader.

That's why people buy Harleys....they like to pay for a name that doesn't perform any better than a more reliable Honda, Yamaha, etc. Same with Lincoln owners, that just need to pay more for their Ford, LOL.
To each his own. -
You mean like paying more for a lonestar which is a prostar with a different hood? I gotcha now.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
That all depends too. I find prices to be very regional. And dealer to dealer.
My Star was $186,000 and we paid $167 for it. But dealers say there is no mark up, LOL.
So if we go by your reasoning poppapump1332, you are saying a long nose Pete is a special built stand-alone model that shares nothing with aero hood Pete's with the same cab?
Hahaha, don't get offended either, I'm just busting your ba!!s.
My whole point is everyone has their favourites. I've had good luck with Binders. My new Star on the other hand.....I've never seen so many build quality issues in one truck.
