I saw one gentleman speak about CH Robinson. I know alot of guys call them Cheap and Heavy Robinson but i run for them about 99% of the time. I deal with the Fort Worth and Albuquerque offices and they pay fair and above rates for the lane if you just ask for it and build up a relationship with them.
From what ive found, each office of CHR is like their own brokershop. Some good, some bad, just like anything else. I like the online load seach, 24 hours support, 50% Tchecks up front and 48hr quick pay.
Works for me!

An update on Brazos Logistics out of Lubbock, TX:
Transportation Intermediaries Association
ETHICS COMMITTEE
TIA Ethics Case No. 08-8
Decision
November 7, 2008
In July 2008, XXXXXXXX brought an ethics complaint against Brazos Logistics, a TIA member. Following repeated attempts to reach Brazos Logistics with no response, the Committee has determined to issue a decision without benefit of a response from Brazos.
Role of the Committee
The TIA Code of Ethics is designed to promote the highest standard of ethics within the brokerage and third party logistics industry. Since 1978, TIA has made adherence to the TIA Code of Ethics a mandatory requirement for membership.
The role of the TIA Ethics Committee is to review complaints against TIA members to determine if the member lived up to its promise to abide by the spirit of the TIA Code of Ethics. The TIA Ethics Committee is neither a court of law nor an arbitration system. It is a peer review committee.
Discussion of the Complaint
XXXXXXXX alleges non-payment by Brazos Logistics. Brazos did not respond to the formal notification of the complaint by TIA. Nor has Brazos responded to subsequent letters, email, or phone calls. Based on this lack of response, the Committee has no choice but to find Brazos Logistics in violation of the TIA Code of Ethics. A company in violation of the TIA Code of Ethics may not renew its membership until it has brought itself back into compliance with the terms of the Code of Ethics.
Decision
TIA will not renew the membership of Brazos Logistics beginning January 1, 2009. Should Brazos wish to reapply for TIA membership, they will first need to address the outstanding Ethics violation.
Issued this 7th day of November 2008 by the TIA Ethics Committee.ranger2.3t, Oldironfan and Summerfield Thank this. -

YeAH!
Sounds like their bark is worse than their toothless bite.
Carry on.
Business as usual.
(And a good laugh was had by all)
Well, ...... except to feel important, and collect dues due, --- to TIA.
Probably 'cause Brazos is so scared of a powerless group.
Ya reckon.
BTW, how much will Brazos be saving in membership dues?
I think it's obvious what Brazox wishes.
Why not send a couple of TIA agents out to Brazos address?
Maybe Brazos doesn't know their phones aren't workin'.
I'm sure they'd ethically appreciate that information.
And, I think, immediately sent to the Brazos circular file.
"TIA Ethics Committee"?
How ethical is TIA?
They collect dues, but have no real power to DO ANYthing?
Hmmmmmmmmm
I'm thinkin' TIA would make a good branch of the gubmint.
Smoke & Mirrors.
Touchy, feel good, ......... but that's where it ends.
BTW, does TIA send a frame to put that document in?
It'd probably cover that hole in the wall, where their members have
beaten their heads ----- in frustration.
OH!
And a band-aid for the bump on said head.
Bend over and receive your kick.
DOGSLIFE, Drive-a-Mack and Spacer Thank this. -
Although I am a hardcore capitolist, and can't say that I wouldn't do whatever I can to gain an advantage in my own business, I sure wouldn't hide behind a smoke screen and call it "ethics". -

I just have to ask. A friend of my wife's is a broker in western NY. He heard I am getting into driving and of course, wanting to be a good friend, offers advice. He is telling me what companies are good and it is a virtual "who's who" of the Bad Companies forum. What is this guy trying to do to me?
I know this guy and he is pretty straight forward so I am guessing that brokers are the devil to drivers since he values a company by a whole new set of standards. He says Werner and Covenant are good, yet I can barely find a driver to agree. Sure one or two agree, but look at the other side.
