OK, My greyhound ride for Swift orientation is drawing close. I do have concerns about being OTR and getting starved for miles. As I have thought about this, and considering human nature, my strategy is going to be to project a positive can do attitude to be the kind of guy a DM looks forward to dealing with. I might even bring a box of donuts or cookies when I get in to the terminal occasionally. Wil this help devlop a good raport with staff or just pigeonhole me as an ###kisser?? I would like to hear your thoughts??

One driver posted he does that at a certain scale house. He says they're really rough on truckers, so he pulls around back without being told and takes donuts & coffee inside, then leaves.
Sounds like a tall tale, but may be true.

I would think the officers would be afraid the gifts are tainted somehow. I just keep thinking, why do some drivers at Swift seem to do well and some don't. The thing is nobody likes negativity, for instance, if I am given a few bad loads, maybe it will be best for me not to complain. Maybe the DM has a few great runs in mind for me next and a guy can blow that if he gets pissey. Another thing I am planning on is keeping y hair short and shaving everyday. I have lost over 80lbs and look better than I have in well over a decade. I will be tucking my shirt in again as well. We all know drivers who have given up and act like homeless people in appearance and attitude.

Anytime you're in dispatch, wear a tuxedo and cummerbund w/bowtie & carry a tray of cookies and milk.

If it's mostly womenfolk maybe I should just wear a thong?

Consider cowboy boots, cowboy hat, glow-in-the-dark condom vs the thong.
