    This!!.

It's up to you if you want to succeed. If they see that you're clueless they will sell you a new egr cooler before a gallon of antifreez.

Clueless when it comes to mechanical stuff... not an idiot (most of the time anyway). I should learn... I will learn over time.

You will. Dont let the motor scare you. Open the hood and stare at it for an hour from top bottom and all sides. Learn the parts (which you should know most because of dmv pre trip to get cdl)

There is lazy people who aren't willing and then there is those who actually don't mind getting dirty and saving some funds. I would rather take the 130$ and spend it at dinner date than to Billy at petro to adjust my brakes that's just me.

I would advise that you spend an hour or 2 a week under the truck with a flashlight and a grease gun. You'd be amazed at how many things you can catch early, before they become an issue.

    nickstick and Macneil Thank this.

600 $ worth of Cambodia Tire tools. Assorted. Per above. Spare light cord. Spare air line already assembled. A bunch of assorted sized radiator clamps, a bunch of assorted sized air-air clamps, spare fluids (oil-coolant-WD40-5th wheel grease-etc). Spare bulbs. 2 rolls of duct tape, a crow bar, extra winter wipers, the list goes on .... Etc. Find an O/O and buy him/her a coffee or a beer. Pick their brain. Look at their cache. A 15$ spare air-air clamp can save you a $1500 highway service call ..... or worse .... Start Googling "New Trucking O/O"

    Luck - Out

We've all been there and learned the hard way ...........
