I may be facing a layoff from work. I am currently a yard dog, been at this for a year. Before that I was otr and local. If I get laid off I am wanting to get try and get into this driving pickups.
A few things though, I want to work for a company that provides the truck and trailer and offers medical benefits. I cant afford my own and wouldnt even know how to get started. I would need a bit of training as I have driven a stick in a semi, but never a 5 speed in a pickup or car. I would want to take my wife with me after training. I would like to make some money at this. Not lookig at the brass ring right away, willing to work up. Is something like this possible?
I have my CDL-A with dbls/trpls and tanker. Can get hazmat, twic, and passport if needed.
