I am currently in the TNT portion of training and have been since June 3rd with no issues at all. I just got done driving my trainers truck solo for the last 7 days and had no issues I know the basics of this job and I feel I am ready to upgrade but my instructor wants me to run on his truck for 2 more weeks to correct anything that went wrong during my solo time. My issue is nothing went wrong and he hasn't taught me anything since my 3rd week with him do I complain to dispatch and request to be allowed to upgrade? I took the upgrade test and passed it and only have the computer classes to do now??

How many miles have you ran during TNT?? If you have hit the limit then tell him and the FM you want to upgrade. If there are no issue's then they won't have a leg to stand on if you have to take it to Steve Larson. Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough and Either you guys pay me .43 per mile or I am getting off into my own truck.

Trainers that take advantage of other people just starting out in trucking really suck. If everything you said is true AND you're approaching 60k miles with no issues like I sincerely hope you have a talk with Steve Larson and explain everything to him.
My trainer may of been a total A-hole cranky as a bear every morning but he never once took advantage of me when I went thru TNT a couple yrs back. In fact I was off the truck before the 40k because it was obvious I was ready. Sounds like your guy is just using you to line his own pockets.
I guess if nothing else you can chalk it up to practice for when you get on your own. Instead of the trainer trying to take you for a ride it'll be those shady characters hanging around the fuel island trying to sell you a gold rolex for $20 or some dingbat with 20 tablet computers he got from a friend that'll sell one to you for only $20 bucks.
Our world is filled with scam artists. Welcome to trucking!
