My state book (NJ)says that all commercial drivers are required to stop at a rail road grade crossing when driving a commercial vehicle. I have never seen a tractor trailer stop at train crossings? I ask because I have a road test coming up and there are railroad crossings involved, should I come to a stop or just slow down and check? Oh and the tracks we are crossing are not in service but it is not posted. Thanks
Railroad crossings for all trucks or just hazmat?

If it's a uncontrolled crossing maybe err on the side of caution and do a quick stop.. With all these trucks hitting trains lately you never know if that's what they are checking for
