I just ordered the Rand McNally 730. I've owned Garmin. Not impressed. Trying the RM. What's the good/bad/any word on this particular truckers GPS? I'm all ears! Thanks

I like the 730. I don't use all the capabilities, but for the most part its pretty accurate.
I do like the compare routes feature. Saves time adding miles in the Atlas. When the weather is bad for example, it showed my Lost Hills CA to Cheektowaga NY was only 50 miles longer taking 40 to 44 rather than taking 70.
For the most part, its easy to use and accurate.americanmadetrucker Thanks this. -
I have the older rand mcnally, and I've also had the newer garmin 770. I like my rand a little more though.

I do run a support thread for the TND's here.

Don't let the length of the thread steer you wrong. It is a support thread and many times the same questions are asked over and over again.

what I don't like about my rand McNally is it is not smart enough to give me cites close by me when im searching. My IPhone will suggest the closer cites first. I also have tried to turn off all the HOS but it still shows it. Some times the so called "Fastest Route" isn't . I do like seeing what time im getting somewhere. Im starting to go to the same places so its not even worth it to turn it on. I also the night before I use google maps and earth to plan my route and to see how to get in to certain areas
NavigatorWife Thanks this.
