Today I called 35+ brokers.... Long story short, the average per mile rate from east cost (NY, NJ, PA) was below $1... around .80CPM~.91CPM!!! for a 300+ mile load. The funny thing is STUPID people were taking these loads within 5 minutes of them being posted on the board. I am shocked, how can O/O or companies make money with these kind of rates and why are people so dumb taking cheap & heavy loads??? That's not even break even point after paying for tolls, diesel, insurance, payments, etc!!!

Get your 4 bucks+ going in and leave that ####. 300 miles to gross even 300 probably cost you a day or 2 and instead you can leave with nothing and go in the hole for 150 to 200. 1 or 2 days work to go ~+100? No thanks. I'll be an idiot and go in the hole instead of wasting my time

irookie... You can get $2.50-$4.00 per mile going IN to the northeast...But you gotta leave the Brokers alone, They'll keep 30% of that Haul!!

That's why you only make $1.,80-$2.00 per mile going in.

This is quality advice from me to you.....

If You start running a certain lane..Start working on your "backhaul" too with Direct Buyers/Shippers.

Best advice I can give you is Leave the Brokers alone!! You'll Wonder what happened after 5 years why your bank account is stagnet. Workj so Hard to just get by.. NOT SENSIBLE.

Best of Luck to you and Hope your a success!

    I have a question ( raises hand ).
Why would you want to go east of the Buckeye to begin with?
