Hi we are farmers and purchased a 2009 sterling with a c15 18speed r/r. We stretched the truck and tow 1 trailer of grain grossing about 60-65t loaded.we are returning 1.5 km a litre.is this normal or can we get better? It's turning about 1550rpm at 100km. 4.3 ratio. Is this to low?

you could go 4.10 or even 3.90 but I would not go any lower. especially since you are grossing 0ver 140k pounds. Or you could do like some of our trucks that gross 200k pounds and go with dual range rears. lows range is 5.3 and high range is 4.1. those are great when pulling hills/mountain passes. Mine runs 3.9 with full lockers and I can pull 200k pounds with no problems.
