With a Freightliner, you have to have the coolant to the Max Cool line on the coolant reservoir, or you may not achieve a proper ReGen. I can't speak for a Volvo. Where is your coolant level?

A bit more info about the truck might help, year, engine make, mileage, etc.
Sounds like its not getting the dpf inlet temp high enough to actually do a regen. Thats usually a sign of a Doser injector problem or a problem with the dpf inlet temp sensor. -
i have had a problem were i have had to do 3 or 4 regens in a row. that usally does the truck
-
600,000 miles
I check the temp is 580 to 640F when I do the regen parking, after finish the gauge still at 3, when I star driving the gauge star going down to 0 and then in a secons back to 3 -
Sounds like a sensor problem then.

Sensor issue probably

with those kind of temps you aren't dumping any fuel in the exhaust to get it to burn hot enough. Most likely cause is the DPF doser located on the back side of turbo probably its plugged truck is trying to regen but not burning hot enough to get rid of soot might need to clean and replace gasket might need new doser or controll thats the only thing i can think of from the top of my head.
daf105paccar Thanks this. -
If you're good with a wrench pull the 7th injector and inspect the inside of the pipe / chamber it sprays into - my buddy's truck packed soot in there regularly, restricting the spray of the 7th injector and basically making every regen attempt, parked or rolling, super inefficient. He described cleaning it as annoying but not really hard. Some carb cleaner and a stiff wire brush or glove finger (probably want to throw the glove away when you're done) would do it.
If you are good with tools, this is an easy thing to check and fix if it is the problem, or cross off the list of potential problems if it's not severely sooty.
