Just saw some more proof that regulations have nothing to do with safety.

Due to the pipeline problem in AL, the TN Governor has issued a state of emergency. This gives any truck hauling fuel the ability to throw their log book out the window and run as much as they wish.

I guess safety matters as long as all the soccer moms can fuel up their minivan. If not, throw HOS out the window.

It really isn't. I started for a mega with elogs, I was stressed out all the time because of the stupid 14 and the forced 30 min break. Worked briefly for a small outfit and learned how to run like an outlaw, man so much fun. I slept with my regular schedule every day, I didn't get a 30 if I actually felt in the mood of driving, it was great. The only downside is the headache that comes with multiple logs.. it gets annoying after a while. I just wished they let us run how we see fit, at least get rid of that 14/30... Just let me drive my 11 a day or increase it to 13 like the Canadians... I'll be happy. I don't mind elogs, the problem is the hos that are stupid and stressful

If we go into war in the near future, and I think is a real threat, maybe the logbook will get suspended nationwide so that supplies travels faster. I'm going to get my hazmat just in case so I can do some lawful outlaw stuff lol... Maybe companies would take off the speed limiter and let you run 75+ :)

Odds are you'll get drafted into the infantry and have to walk around with a heavy backpack

Doubt it, I'm overweight, flat footed, and a single son, no siblings so I think I don't qualify to get drafted :)

I'll support the country in other ways

Don't bet on it....80% of the country is over weight, and Uncle Sam has many efficient ways to get you down to fighting weight quick....

Isn't there an age limit for the draft, I might still qualified. But in a state of an emergency these situations occur.

Dang, I just read that being an only son doesn't matter... And I'm just turning 24.. so I've got 2 more years of which I can get drafted. Hilary must not get elected!!!

I'm sure there's an exemption somewhere in their thousand plus page law book cncerning HOS.
