2 of our drivers got a unsecured load violation. Cause on their coil they had the oval type that the chains were attached to. Told by the d.o.t. that only the triangle type can be used and the oval is only good for hooking straps.
Also the tie downs are only good for 2 years. I talked to a rep from t.m.l. in Walton ky. They say d.o.t is wrong. What say you ?

J hooks?

I'm interested in this.
I'd think a call to Reinouer would be in order.
For the record, I think the d.o.t. is wrong and I hope you pursue this to the end. Please keep us posted. -

Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I'm interested in the response to this as well. Not so much the style as the date issue...
taxihacker66 and Klleetrucking Thank this. -
Thanks for keeping us in progress of this.
I guess I'm in trouble,,,, some of my j hooks are over ten years old. The only numbers stamped on mine are the W.L.L.
Cheerin' you on dude! -
I say its awfully hard to convince D.O.T that they are wrong. Hope your company wins.

Guess all of our Reitnouer J hooks just became 1 year old since there is no date stamped on them that I see. At $19.50 a piece that's an awful expensive piece to replace if its perfectly good
Bean Jr. Thanks this.
