Thanks for the reply. My mic has a little more wiring and something small and round souldered in it. Forgive my novice ignorence. I assume it was added to stop feedback. This is the wiring I need to see if possible.

I am new here but I am interested in this post. Were you able to get information? My old RK56 lost the silver screw thing that screws it into the radio after you plug it in and I need a new one. I am thinking I need to by a new connector and rewire? Any help?

    Hello Eric.

Yes, sounds like you need a new plug. They are inexpensive (around $5) and available at some of the major truck stop chains. Assuming your RK56 has a 4-pin plug and your radio is a Cobra, Uniden, Galaxy, Connex, or the like, the wiring is:

Pin 1 - Red and Shield (common and shield)
    Pin 2 - White (audio)
    pin 3 - Blue (transmit)
    Pin 4 - Black (receive)

The yellow wire is not used.

    Hope this helps.
