My cascadia with dd15 was using the Jake brake to shut down while using the opti idle so it was very smooth shutting down it has stopped using it now it's very rough to the point sleep is impossible. The dealer says all the parameters are correct it would be working but it's not they don't have a clue how to fix it. Anybody have any ideas?

I have / had the same issue with the opti idle system. Starting up isn't an issue, but when it shuts down, it shuts down just like when you usually turn it off, and the last few rotations is just like someone shaking you to wake you up lol. Good luck.

Mine has never been soft even though it gets the rpms really low before turning off. I can't believe it is safe to wake a driver up two or 3 times per hour. I suspect the impact is worse than sleep apnea...someday a freightliner will have a fatal crash and the driver will claim he hasn't had a good nights sleep since he got the truck with opti idle.
You heard it here first.free spirited1 Thanks this. -
