Usually when a company ends their lease program, any people already under a lease simply continue the program to completion or until they quit. The company just doesn't initiate any more new leases. Gordon cut out their lease program a little while back but I was still seeing lease trucks everywhere--grandfathered drivers were continuing business as usual, but with the knowledge that if they turned in the truck they wouldn't get another one.

Wonder if UTI, the parent company is getting ready to sell off Sammons or if their great president Scott Palmer thought of this

I can tell you that they are not ending their l/P program, but will not be under UTI anymore

The hard truth is a lot of carriers with fleece purchase "programs" have been getting the pants sued off of them. Some trucking companies are even being investigated by various attorney general's from half a dozen states. Even the government got wise to the "Contractor" scams and are investigating. Some companies even got slick and steered away from "lease purchase" and now call it "rental." LOL. Now let me be clear this is specific to other trucking companies....not necessarily Sammons. However....be rest assured that Uncle Sam is looking into the so called "Contractor" or "employee" status. Recently many trucking companies and transportation companies were crushed in law suits. Just saying.......
