I've thought really hard about that but I think I'm probably going to part out the 8 bag and go with single drive axle. Cheaper to build, better fuel mileage and probably less hassle from the CVSE. I hate mixing brands but I'm considering Freightliner Airliner suspension. Simple and cheap and easy to re-bushing. I'm also considering Pete low air leaf and Hendrickson Primax as well.

As for gearing, I figure 3:55's would be best. With 24.5's it should be sitting around 1500 in top gear at 110km/h. I haven't decided for sure if I'm going 24.5 duals or 22.5 super singles on the drive yet.

I just talked to a welder and he'll be coming over in the next day or so and we're going to come up with a plan for fixing the frame. I've already got my measurements taken and the plan so far is single drive axle. Going to bring the drive axle forward about 10" from where the forward rear drive axle was previously.

LOL. once I get a diff under the back end I'm sticking a different steer axle under it with hub pilots, brakes and new springs.

Well the welder dropped by. Got a plan and made a few more measurments. Tomorrow I'm gonna order up some new rail sections for behind the cab. I've got a couple 2' chunks of rail I lobbed off the tail frame last year the steel shop can use as a sample.

Did a little more steam cleaning on the engine and around the front end. The grease and oil left now is so caked on its going to have to be sandblasted off. Even degreaser didn't do too much. Also steam cleaned the firewall off as well. Found a lot of the brackets and piping on the engine is aluminum so I forsee many hours of polishing in the future ;)
