Rolled across the port of entry scale this afternoon and usually don't look at the cop. But today I did and he's leaned back in his chair mouth wide open and sawing logs. So I tap my town horn and kept rolling. Got red lighted on my drivers. I drive a empty truck. The cop comes out and gives me a thumbs up and a big thank you. Funniest thing to happen in awhile.

Longarm, truckon, RStewart and 10 others Thank this.

I would have just silently crept along, but I'm glad it worked out for you.

Don't under estimate the power of the donut. I bring them to customs usually once every three months. CBP agents coming out of the woodwork, coming from the passenger side, even out of the X-ray building!

Never brought them to a scale, but I have a couple of bags of hand made vanilla caramels I keep in the truck as "relationship gifts". There's a few docks where people start smiling when I show up and they actually go and find the stuff I'm picking up. Hand made chocolates during the holidays only, though. If figure $50 a year to get on the "nice guy" list for 10 or 20 pickups is a darn fine investment......

Never though that showing up with donuts at customs would be that well received. I didn't know the US guys HAD personalities.....
