I've only been at Schneider for a year and a half and I'm at 39 CPM. It just depends on what account/schedule you're on. As for per diem, despite Schneider saying all new drivers start out on per diem automatically, I've never been on it. Don't see that it's worth it. I just calculate per diem at tax time.

No, its not a fee for them to do the math. It is a company imposed penalty to the driver should he or she choose to opt out of per diem.
Per Diem works mainly to the companies' advantage, monetarily speaking, therefore any driver that opts out means that much less in corporate profits.
Kinda like being paid $8.25 per hour to mop floors at the local strip joint, then the owner arbitrarily changes your pay to $6.00 per hour just because you change your W2 status from "Married to "Single".

    Well said.
How dare anybody expect to be paid more than a wage that is already well below the minimum standards, while at the same time working the equivalent of two full time jobs?
Hey, its nobodies fault but the drivers own if he actually expects to pay any bills at home.
Lazy scheming loafers such as these need to man up and quit whining.

I thought from what people were saying, they were charging you to get per diem. If they are charging you to opt out, I see their thinking.

.02 cpm to administer the program of those ON per diem.

Do this. Consult a tax professional for tax related advice.

Consult a truck driver for how to drive or back.

Keep blaming everybody else but the one who agrees to work for that amount.

If it's such a bad profession stay out of it.

Problem is nobody thinks they should start at the bottom..

Maybe it's your fault you can't afford to pay your bills.

There's always other jobs I suggest you apply elsewhere.
