After numerous heartfelt conversations with the wife, we have decided that the time has come for me to get off the road. After spending most of the last 20 years out here (and 9 of our 10 married years), it'll be an adjustment, but we'll have time to prepare. My goal is to be done by years end.

What will a 56-year-old do? Hell, I don't know. I may still be driving, but OTR has run its course with me. Primarily, I can no longer deal with the idiocy exhibited by those in this profession, and I don't mean mistakes. I mean sheer ignorance. Wife has a decent job, and the house is paid for. It makes it a bit easier.

I may run local. I may get out all together. But I have to replace this income. I'll also have to buy out my lease as I'll be departing a year early, but I don't care. It's time. Time to leave before I flat-out go off on some ignoramus sitting on the can while his truck sits at the fuel pumps.

Have no idea on rates of course but I can tell you privately about a place with light loads and looks to be primarily d/h for sni drivers.
