    If anyone drives for either, could you post some pros and cons of both. I've been researching both for about 3 weeks now and still cannot make up my mind. The recruiters at both i talked to didn't seem to be to helpful. Although the lady's at Mercer are extremely nice. Any input from previous or current drivers will hopefully help. Thanks for the help.

    Depends..

    Do you want to deal with brokers and negotiating loads, rates etc?
    Or give up that ability/stress for an easy way out to simply just point and click on prenegotiated loads/rates?

    Either way be sure to contract drivers from both companies to SEE what rates they're actually getting.
    I'm with Schneider and no way I'd lease a truck on anywhere unless I knew what kind of rates is there.

    Thx man. Do you stay busy with Schneider? In the slow season, do they still have alot of freight?

    Nobody that actually drives for mercer has ever recommended going there for van. Schneider or landstar would be your best bet

    Yeah I've read a ton of stuff for the last 2 weeks or more. Just can't make my mind up. Lol. Just want to make the best decision possible.

    Well you should know then what operation you'd enjoy more.
    I'd still compare rates between the two.

    @freightwipper has a great thread on Schneider. And he makes the same if not more than me and doesn't have the broker/agent headaches. I'm with LS and the loadboard can be a real challenge when you start out. With freight real low right now I'd lean more towards Schneider from everything I've gathered. If Schneider didn't have an age restriction when I was starting out they'd be dealing with my lazy arse, but LS lucked out and got me on account of no age restrictions on tractors.
