Not yet. Only thing I've had to do is have the software updated for some reason. I know it's only a matter of time until other issues come up but that's part of owning a truck. As long as any repairs /maintenance, plus higher taxes, are less than the lease payments I figure I'm ahead.

At 300k, you may want to look at having a PM done on the DEF system/DPFS cleaned, but otherwise that's great!

The emissions problems weren't part of owning a truck until the egr/scr/def scam was foisted on everyone. Now it is one of the biggest problems a truck owner has to deal with, and the OEM's don't have a clue how to make them work reliably.

And they don't care. The manufacturers will make money either way so the safe bet is to get in bed with the government then shrug their shoulders when things go wrong. Companies get huge tax breaks for being EPA compliant such as accelerated depreciation and in the end a one truck owner operator has to deal with it. Sign of the times I guess.

I'll look into that. Thanks. Well lease payments are about 40k/yr so hopefully I can make it work offsetting those again maintenance and taxes. Still have about 4-5 months to make a go/no go decision. If it doesn't work out no big deal.

Do the new freightliners and t680s have APUs or EPUs?
Also, anyone here have the t680 with sni? Was wondering about the mpg in them..

T680s have TriPac APUs. Older Cascadias can have either or, and I've heard all the new Cascadias have TriPac APUs as they have phased out the EPUs.

When choosing a truck, do you have to pick blindly or can you look at what they actually have and compare for yourself if a truck is gently used vs. getting a new one?
