Another BS deer story. ( when I had the union job, hitting a deer was considered a chargeable accident, unless you could prove it, like hair, blood or guts) I'd never wreck the truck for a dumb animule (Popeye) I'd, for sure, have to have a deer guard. Knock them pesky deer into next week. I talked to a guy that had a deer guard, and I asked him if he hit a deer with it yet, he said, no, but he was kinda looking forward to it.

Or an elk! Darn near tagged an elk with my pickup truck in the Arkansas River Canyon outside Salida, CO. on US 50 a few years back. Now THAT would not have been pretty. . .

I was always told unless its a car hit the fing thing. ( statement from DOT officer while in training back in 2007, but then again it was Alaska and up there we have Deers on Steroids lol Moose ) As for proof this is why I have a dash cam.

Dont know about a deer, but mine sure took a spanglish speaking driver backing his loaded reefer into it at about 15 mph at a TA like a champ.

We have had two trucks hit deer this year with damage. The one truck didn't even have 5,000 miles on it. Both of the drivers were worried about it all. I tell the drivers that it happens, no big deal. I would rather them hit the deer than hit the ditch.

    True that.

Prepared and seasoned properly deer is tasty, but no matter how hard you try a ditch always tastes like a ditch.

Big Don and Cranky Yankee Thank this.
