Yea... And I imagine when you have 500+ trucks all governed to 60mph or whatever that would be a heck of a selling point to grab lower rates with insurance companies possibly... U know, when your bringing business like that insurance companies would be happy to move numbers around to keep that business... (I would imagine)

    Larger companies are self insured.

That's Interesting, never knew that... But I wonder how is that, legally? ...Because they have the required capital in their reserves per truck type of thing? Or...

Our tractors at Saddle Creek in Harrisburg, NC are governed from 60-67. If I'm in the slow 60 tractor then I know to stay in the slowest lane during my entire shift and it truly is less stressful than being in the 67 tractor constantly having to make decisions to pass or back off. And I'm paid hourly with OT after 40 so I don't care about "getting miles"

But only to a certain amount.

    Then they also carry insurance.

Being self insured is a pretty common thing among larger companies not just in trucking many companies are self insured with their workers comp as well so yes its legal.

I'm making .56 a mile at 67 MPH and am home almost everyday, many guys are making more than that. Prime is a fraud along with most of the other megas. It's sad because I can remember a time when Prime was actually a respected company about 20 years ago. but they can't resist the corporate welfare or I mean "training money" from us the tax payer. These companies need to be exposed for the frauds that they are. 48-55 MPH at .43 per mile and keep me out for three weeks at a time. Geeee where do I sign up. Seriously!

I slow down a bit if tmc or a govern truck is doing 2mph more then me. Conway, swift, c.r , n maybe j.b, the rest they have enough speed to pass me.

What I notice is prime will speed at 62-65 and then go back to 58 which is annoying, why are you pasing me just to slow down again
