Right now I'm a lease operator at prime... yes the slow truck company. and I really want more freedom but not necessarily landstar freedom if you catch what I'm throwing. I understand how gener leases work, however I hear schneider isn't a "normal" lease per say, I hear you put 5k down on a kemwprth (which I am fine with) and it's not a walk away lease, and it's un-governed and un-molested (on guard, adaptive cruise etc.) And you pick your on freight? So would all of the above be true or have I been lied too?

    bbone and TennMan Thank this.

Yep, that's pretty much it. Read my threads, freightwipper's, dfo's, tennman's, etc etc etc...
All the juicy details are in there...

Not a problem. There is no policy, it's your truck.

Technically no, but since SFI ( Schneider Finance, they lease you the truck) is so small they don't report to the credit bureaus. I've heard if you complete at least half of your lease and turn the truck back in in good shape, they won't do anything.

They offer a one year lease also. Try getting that at Prime lol.
Only new Kenworths are $5k down ($6k comes back to you at the end of the term)
    They offer zero down Freightshakers

Im more concerned with schneider walking away after I've made 4 years payments. What's the truck inventory? T680s, cascadias, and 579s?

I've actually been told the FLs are now requiring $1K down, but that could be based on your credit...

I was told I don't have to put $1K down since this is my second. lease.

They only offer one year and three year leases with a residual value at the end. They don't have a lease to own program.

Inventory is what you mentioned, plus some used trucks.
