My spouse is T1 diabetic. When I'm OTR, he is home by himself for hours or days. We've been trying to figure out a way I can be OTR but he can be okay. My sister has been renting a room in the house with us, so he's not alone 24/7, but she's gone to school or work for most of the day. Kids are too young to call for help if he needs it. I can't drive local until I get some experience under my belt. Any suggestions on how we could work this out?

How much experience DO you have? You might be able to go local with food or beverage delivery, but it's a lot of work. Are you indebted to your current company for a certain amount of time? Will your insurance pay for a nurse? Just throwing some ideas out there . . .

Keep applying. Just keep doing it. Use the classified ads, newspapers, go to your industrial areas and ask around.

If you cant find a local job, you might check your area for some kind of Medic Alert System? Not sure what they cost but its a button thing he can wear around his neck and if he has problems, he can press the button and it will contact one of their operators and they can contact an ambulance. Id say your local hospital would know if theres such a system in your area?
