Contact the court of jurisdiction on this matter, it will vary from one city to another, one jurisdiction to another, etc.

You might consider fighting the ticket. Those tickets can cost you in the long run if you don't fight them. There are several services that offer legal representation across the country. Depending on the offense, it is often worth the cost to fight it. You could call OOIDA and speak to someone in their legal department. They could advise you as to what you may want to do and could refer you to one of these services. Good luck.

For one thing, it may make roadside enforcement officers look more closely at your log book during inspections, some companies will frown on you having a false log book ticket on your record, not a deal breaker when considering employment but something they will look at, plus depending on how the citation was written the fine can be a few hundred dollars up into the thousands. Usually about $125 plus court costs.
In the grand scheme of things it is not that big of a deal, but it is always advisable to try and get a citation dismissed or reduced, when possible. It mostly depends on how your company safety department will look at it, some make a big deal, most don't, maybe some log book remediation classes.

Some companies are very strict about false log citations. My company, false log = 3 days off, first offense.
