If you see vehicles all around sitting on blocks I would avoid parking there. There are no 100% safe parking places. Not sure what to add otherwise.

Stay at a truck stop. Do not in any circumstance park in a nearby EMPTY lot etc. This is for populous areas and cities. Don't do it. I don't care if the truck stop is 30 miles away.
