I encountered a flat bed driver using a tarp made with 22 oz vinyl, they were eight years old and in darn good shape. Just wondering if anyone else was using 22 oz tarps. I found a company out of Ohio, Duroche, which will make a steel tarp with 22 oz top and 18 oz drop. If anyone is using a tarp like this I would like to know how heavy they are, and how tight they can be rolled. How well do they perform in cold weather? I am considering buying a couple in a month or two and seek additional information from other drivers.

Any of the tarp companies (Tricity, Tarpstop, etc) will make them. My first tarps were some used 22oz Tricity's. Those suckers were heavy.
Gentlemanfarmer Thanks this. -
Are you talking about 6ft or 8ft drops?

I have enough handling my combo 14 oz on the sides and 18oz across the top. And I complain about them being too heavy. 26ft length with flaps,.. 8 ft drop tarps.
I'll keep patching the holes in mine until I get smart enough to finally leave them at home.

I know this sounds condescending, but I bought a Conestoga and have never looked back. Only use tarps to haul hay anymore. I had the 22 oz 8 ft drops and those suckers were hard to roll in the winter. Of course the newer material is probably better nowadays.
