    Aside from the output power and the meter differences is there any reason to select one over the other?

    The 955 will give you SSB don't know if you are fan....

    I am a fan of SSB i would go with the 955.

    I know a guy that use a 955 and in AM is audio is really loud & clear he got it from DTB.

    I know a guy that has a 955 with "everything that can be done to it, done to it" for sale for $250.

    So, I'll probably go 955.

    Not to hijack your tread but, are these not 10 meter units? Do they work for regular cb also? Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm new to this stuff.
