    Another fish story Stryker 497 15 watts swinging 90 to 100 will not " overrule" 655 or 955 with 15 watts swinging 60 to 70, just my opinion.

    Well for the price you get a good stable radio on Ssb 70 watts output power if you don't want to run an amp

    And what's the comparision to a galaxy dx 94 hp the galaxy can push a 100 watt on Ssb are the components similar seeing as these radios are all built nowadays in China .

    I'm no SSB aficionado, but the 955 seemed very stable compared to the Cobra 148, and Galaxy 959... thats not meant as a slam on those radios, just my opinion with the limited play time I've had. I also like the 6 digit freq. counter, which remained much more solid than my Magnum.

    I'm either looking at the Stryker 955 or the Galaxy Dx 94 hp I like the microphone jack on the front of the radio and the Stryker has fm and the screen display can be changed .

    To me 6 digits is a must in SSB, i don't understand owning a 5 digits SSB radio...

    The Galaxy is 5 digit, I don't recall any counter on the Cobra 148
