That's a fact, I'm debt free, home, vehicles, credit cards, all paid in full, I'm just working long enough until I can retire, some believe money is everything, I'm just not one of them, for me? It's family and friends, and time with them, which is why I took a local gig, home every night, and off weekends

To me, money is important, but not the most important aspect.

Trucking companies and their drivers are like a marriage/relationship. It starts out with mutual affection and promises but then reality sets in and bills come do and then the fussing and cussing. At this point its time to seperate and start over.

I work for England and make good money. I don't train but have a partner i run with. Been with them 3 years. If a company doesn't meet your needs find one that does.

3000 miles a week at .36 cpm is better than 2000 miles a week
at .50cpm. If the miles are there, nice trucks, not a lot of hassle,
they are probably not all bad.

The question was about Western paying only .36 cpm. They have
beautiful trucks, run a lot of western state miles. 3000 western
state miles in a truly nice truck is a 100 times easier than 2000
east coast miles in a mega carrier, 62 mph, pile of plastic, and
deal with tons of traffic miles.

To me it is not about cpm. It is how much is my paycheck that
I take home to my family every week. How much crap am I going
to deal with to get it. I would far rather drive where I want to,
drive a nice truck. If I can make the same money doing what I
want to do why would I sign up for something I hate to do for
    even less money?

West of I-35 is miles and miles of good running. Little
    traffic, plenty of truck parking,etc........
East of I-35, well that is a whole different story. You want
me to run east, it takes a lot more money.

I get all that but you're telling me you'd want to drive 1,000 more miles per week at .36 cpm for a whopping $80 over a guy running 2000 miles at .50cpm?!?!? Even if you average 60 mph over all miles, that's 17 hours more per week you're working to get that $80!!!?? It's like $4.00/hr over all those hours and that's just DRIVING! Doesn't include loading/unloading, fueling, pre-trips/post-trips, delays, weather, etc. Even putting money aside, that's 17 hours per week you could be home with your family!?!?!

This kind of mentality is exactly why I don't run the road anymore. I'm not out there to show off my big red rooster cruiser to the rest of the world. But, that's what makes a market and we'll have to agree to disagree, I suppose. Best of luck to you in you travels.
