    I've heard that today is a holiday in DC. So all government offices are closed......

    The last day to E file / post mark the check is Monday .

    I'm not sure about the reasoning, but the dates are correct. This year is the 18th, not the 15th, to get the taxes done.

    Reasoning is correct, some vague holiday... any time the 15th has fallen on a Sat or Sun the due date has been pushed to Monday, just an extra day this year :)
