Soon I'll be eating like this in the truck once I finally put my inverter in. I have the grill and microwave just need power.

I'm going to call Thermo King to see what they charge for an inverter under the bunk with wall sockets.

I was at Thermo King Thursday the inverter alone is 800.00 and change with 115.00 an hour labor charge minimum 2 hours and then the cost of cables and such.

The Mechanic told me I'd be better off bringing my own inverter.

I believe the outlets have to be installed when the truck is built at factory.

    Hegemeister Thanks this.

Wonder how the inverters at Pilot / Flying J are? They now have blue tooth to control from the smart phone.

I got a cobra 1500 watt in here i payed wayyy too much for that i had hooked up when i picked up the truck and im tellin ya i should of waited. they wanted 450 IIRC for it installed. the inverter is worth 200 250 at best and there is a design flaw in the plug ins where they use cheap thin brass inside the socket that gets loose and makes you fiddle with it to get any power.other than making it hard to have consistant power the inverter hasnt given me any problems. if cobra fixed it or if a guy opened it up and wired in some house sockets it would be great... i had it perhaps a month before it started being all floppy and stuff. i have a 3k pure signwave inverter by aims at home if i ever get enough time there i will install it. it was in my old truck before i had to get a carb compliant one for 5 years without a hitch. i dont remember what i payed for it but its worth looking into especially if you have a lot of delicate electronics onboard. just my 2 cents.

I have a Power Drive 1500 that I bought when I started driving this T680 a year ago. I installed it myself and I have not had any problems. I think I paid $150.

Type inverter? Pure sine wave? Or TS style.
