If you ever drive through this area don't expect to be blabbing on the phone as you do, or looking at your GPS, it won't happen.....
Happen to see this on the news again this morning and thought I would share. In a way it would be nice to live away from all the electronics, again.
The quietest town in Ameriaca, No wifi, no cell phones,no tv.

The FCC mandates at least three such "RF Quiet Zones" in the US and its territories: Greenbank; WV; near Arecibo radiotelescope in Puerto Rico; and in the northern part of either Colorado or Wyoming -- one of them square states -- near a military reserve. Not the place for a ham or avid CBer to retire to....
On the good side, though, at least your GPS receives signals from a constellation of satellites in low earth orbit (~240 mi?) and it's really not possible to shut them all off when WV is in their footprints
So you can at least navigate through town, but it'd be a bad place to ask for a radio check, or call CQ DX
73FreightlinerGuy and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -

The one in West Virginia is very cool. You can take a tour of the place.

I imagine these folks are as nice and would help anyone in need like the Amish community.
