If you have a motorcycle license you can rent a Harley for the day.
North of Denver you can go horseback riding.
Alot of koa camp grounds have plenty of things to do, like horseback riding, whitewater rafting, canoing, swimming, fishing, ATVs, etc.
I also go get my nails and hair done go walking in the malls and flower gardens.
Just get out of the truck!!!
Things to do on a layover.

All the responses in this thread show me just how much trucking has changed since I started.
Back in the 70's the only acceptable activities would have been hookers and cocaine.
The back of the lot at Ontario......or Jubitz.
I guess this is an improvement................Flyer Thanks this. -
ummm yes ---drivers cant afford the lizards or coke anymore
it its any consolation tho---its probabely the same hookers in ontario that were there in 70s -

Post what and where there are things to do on the road that others might be interested in.
Now, out of the box -- a disclaimer -- I don't stand anything to gain by posting this information here but if you are on a layover at TA in Jessup, Maryland there is a fitness center with a pool, hot tub and sauna nearby. They also have exercise classes and water areobics.

I usually pull the rental car out of the trailer and go to places I have never been before. This last time I went to Scotty's Castle in Death Valley. Took some narrow one lane gravel road in Death Valley to it that went through a ghost town called Leadville. Visit the old gold mines in Leadville CO the time before that. Went up the highest paved road in North America, Mt. Evans, which is on a county road south of Idaho Springs CO. That road is not truck freindly. Barely wide enough for two passenger cars. No lot lizards for me but I have been known to fondle machine guns. Rented machine guns at The Gun Store in Las Vegas. Went to Hoover Dam, not truck freindly. I am running out of things to do.
