Apparently this whole business of opening the doors from the inside is pretty common. I got a load from Tate & Lyle in Lafayette, IN, and was told to back the trailer into the door, then go inside and open the doors from the inside. So now i understand how it works. It was a pretty cool set up I thought! Always wondered how it worked.

I'm not allowed to call the warehouse workers where I load 'idiots'. Got read the riot act a few times about it, in fact.
What else can you call people who load empty boxes, boxes with the wrong product, boxes to a different customer... the list goes on - onto a pallet? (no, not all at once, that would be grounds for homicide). People who stage your product in some remote corner of the warehouse - and leave no note (thereby wasting an hour or more of your day as you look for it). People who can't tell 3" PVC from 4" EMT (metal) conduit?
I suppose I should be grateful - it's given me a good rep with my customers. I always strongly enourage them to break the load and verify it before I leave. Some do, some don't, but they all appreciate the suggestion - and know why I make it.
I'm still not allowed to call the warehouse staff 'idiots'
Morons. -
Thank god i've never had a TLC load that wasnt drop/hook in that case. Usually it goes from TLC to TLC. -
Ok, how about this one? Recently I picked up a TLC load. Now, i work for werner, and we ...dont have roll up doors. Load was preloaded onto a trailer that does. Weird, must be for a dedicated account that fell through. The door is open. Funny. Well, some idiot looped the strap around the handle, making it imposible to close the door. The TLC idiots couldnt figure out how to close it so they just left it in the yard with the doors open. What a bunch of morons. Product had not been damaged yet thankfully. And thank god for my fifth wheel puller....

Think of it this way.. they get paid to work.. not paid to think.

Lol.. I used to work there at TLC. I worked in the welcome center, or what you all would call the gaurd shack.. I worked ther from 2002-2005. That place has never really ran smooth. Sounds like its getting worse. Are the gaurds doing everthing in the welcome center, or is there a TLC employee working in there also checking the trucks in and out??
