I had a 2012 step deck dropped off and when I hooked up to it and pushed the trailer air break in I couldn't get the dump valve to close. There isn't any electrical wires going to it and I don't know how to close it up. Is the problem the truck wiring or a problem with the trailer? Thanks.

Check for a manual dump valve on the trailer

What position is the leveling arm in? Is it even hooked to the rod?

No I'm in Louisiana. I just bought trailer and truck. This is the first time I plugged the air in. My friends truck brought it here and all went well. I'm stumped.
It has a sliding rear axel. I checked the switch and its alright. The trailer has been sitting for about 5 months. I think it has something to do with the wiring harness from truck to trailer.

It's all perfect so I think it's got to be electrical.

Unplug pigtail 1st to see if leak stops,Ck. for power on the center wire in your pigtail it may be wired to the dump valve, as some older trailers had center wire used for dump valve? unpl

I ment it has no wiring going directly to the dump valve. It only has air lines, 5 to be exact.
